Literally movements are a way to divide literature into categories of similar topics.

Explanation of first Two Literary movements | Realism & Naturalism

Realism:

Realism starts in 1850 from painting. It is a depiction of true world. They depicted the society as it is.

Cycle of Realism:

Realism first appeared in European then Russia then Britain then America then Canada and Asia.

Realism was a revolt against romanticism and fantasy.

Types of Realism:

There are three types of Realism:

Social Realism:

It deals the society.

Kitchen-sink Realism:

This was about domestic issues.

American Realisms:

It was about tragedy of a common man.

Naturalism:

Naturalism starts in 1860-1865.

In naturalism those elements are touched which left by Realism.

Naturalists focus on nature. They don't believe in spiritualism and soul. They focus on rules and regulations and existence. They want everything proved by Science.

They thought" Mature is everything, It's a whole reality. Everything cones from nature and returned to nature. It has its own laws and regulations. It's a complete entity. And we have to follow those rules otherwise we will be eliminate from the society and have to face consequences. Naturalists use scientific method.

We require mature. Society is important element in naturalism. A naturalists says"

Humans should beware of the ills of society and maintain humanity.

Forms of naturalism:

There are two forms of naturalism:

1.     Physical form

2.     Biological form

Physical form:

Physical form focuses on materialism. Humans use their senses.

Biological form:

They believe that humans should efforts for his survival. They focus on the Darwin’s concept that “Life is ever changing and Dynamic”. The one who change himself according to time, can survive others cannot.

They believe that we can explore mysteries of nature through science.
