Brief Summary of the story “Poor peoples Lockdown”:
The short story
revolves around a protagonist "Billy” who lived in a typical urban area in
slums. He was a daily wager and earns bread and butter to feed his family.
After COVID-19 hits the
world, and turned into pandemic the daily wagers lost their jobs. Billy did
efforts to gain any job but failed to do so and at last a policeman helped him
but after some other days when did not get any source of income he committed suicide
with his family.

Realism in story writing:
City:
The story setting is
placed in an outskirts of the city in the slums.
Marriage and family:
He has 2 sons and a
daughter and one wife. He has a small family and their religion was
Christanity.
Class conflict:
Class conflict was
obvious in story. The lockdown was not same for have and haven’ts.
Morality and religion:
The protagonist was a
christian by birth and it is clearly elucidated thought the event of Eid.
His moral values were
firm and subtitle as one can observe his attitude with his family and society.
He was hardworking but the situation compelled him to commit suicide due to
hunger.
Philosophy:
The philosophy of life is
depicted in the story that "Humans nature is controversial, humans have
determination but the situations haunt people and eventually, poor has no
companion.
